being a non-frequent traveler, i seldom check my passport. the only thing i know is that i got a valid passport ... ![]()
this month, it was around 6th or 7th, one of my best friend asked if i'd like to join him to visit Singapore the week after. since i've never been there before, and he got the accomodation for us (we got no need to pay for the accomodation like hotel)... i just got no point to reject his invitation.
we kept on buy flight tickets on 12th this month and things turned around smoothly...
nevertheless, 2 days before our departure, one of us just called and told us that his passport gonna expire on 13th !
then, it came to my attention that i got my passport , to my best memory, in 1997 right after 'back to PRC'. then...
haaaaaaa, luckily my passport expires in Oct this year. but... passport of validity more than 6 months is the basic entry requirement for many countries, including Singapore !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so scary that when i check in at the airport, the staff did notice it and then asked me to sign an undertaking saying that i was gonna take the risk that if i was rejected from entering Singapore, i gotta pay / arrange the flight back to HK myself. well, i thought i should take such risk, and... got aboard
then at the immigation counter... very luckily that the officer just said nothing and let me 'in'...
wow, what a scary trip i ever have...
friends, do check your passport's expiry date regularly![]()
